A unique event was organised for thousands of students in Kota, Rajasthan, to overcome depression. As we know, in recent times, the cases of suicide in Kota are rising. Rajasthan Administrative Service trainee Ashwin Malu from Barmer inspired the students to live their lives by keeping depression away from them. He attended it along with RAS topper Vikrant Sharma in the event. During this program, a total of 34 trainee RAS officers visited Kota to inspire students on the issue of depression. The officers, who were in Kota for a three-day study tour, took a special class for coaching students to overcome depression and keep them motivated. They told the students about their own failures and struggles.

In this initiative, 34 trainee officers of the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) were sent on a three-day study tour to Kota district. Apart from routine training, all of them were sent to interact with coaching students for one hour each. Among them, Ashwin Malu of Barmer, who secured 14th rank in Rajasthan, spoke to the students and told them the biography of Rabindra Nath Tagore. He also encouraged students to build resilience against depression and work towards realising their goals.

While narrating a memoir of his life, Malu told the children an incident at a temple. Malu said that he had gone to Girnar in Junagadh to complain to Dada Neminath about his failures, then a handicapped person reached the temple by climbing thousands of stairs. Seeing him, Malu thought in his mind that this handicapped person reached his destination, despite such a difficult condition and physical weakness. Then why me, who is capable, has come to the temple to complain about my failures?

He said that from that day onwards he started preparing for Rajasthan Administrative Services and when the results came, he secured 14th rank in the state. Malu told the children that what that handicapped person taught was the most special. He further added that one has to fight any kind of situation, not be afraid and die. After the speech, RAS Vikrant Sharma and Ashwin Malu also answered many questions of the children.
