Announcing his retirement, Bharat wrote on Instagram, ‘With pride and gratitude I announce my retirement from international cricket. Representing my country has been the greatest honor of my life. In his message, Bharat expressed his gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Andhra Cricket Association, Vizag District Cricket Association (VDCA) and his family. He also specially thanked former captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and former head coach Rahul Dravid, who played an important role in his career.

How was Bharat’s Test career?
KS Bharat got a chance in the Indian Test team after a long wait. He made his Test debut against Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. As a wicketkeeper batsman, he was included in the team in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Bharat played a total of 7 test matches for the Indian team, in which he scored 221 runs at an average of 20.09. His last Test match was against England in Visakhapatnam in February 2024. After this, due to the entry of young players and tough competition, he could not retain his place in the team.

Even though KS Bharat did not get many opportunities in international cricket, his record in domestic cricket was excellent. While playing for Andhra Pradesh, he played many important innings and also made his mark as a wicketkeeper.
