Firing continued in the hills of Kulgam, officials said.
“The terrorists are heavily armed and carrying sophisticated weapons with them,” they said.
The encounter broke out on August 1 after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in a forest area at Akhal in the south Kashmir district, following specific information about the presence of heavily armed terrorists in the area.
A top cop said that the forces were using all means, including drones and helicopters, to hunt terrorists in the forest area.
