54-year-old Premprakash Bihani, living in Vyas Colony of Kotwali police station area of Nagaur, has accused moneylenders of harassing him in the name of loan and grabbing gold jewellery. According to Premprakash, after suffering losses in business, he had borrowed around Rs 15-16 lakh from moneylenders to start a fast food shop. Earlier he had a big business of paan and fenugreek, but after huge losses he had to sell his property and even his house. After this, he borrowed money from different people to start the business. According to the complaint, Rs 11 lakh was taken from Laxman Gaur, Rs 8.50 lakh from Arjun Gaur, Rs 1.50 lakh from Akash Tiwari, Rs 4 lakh from Nikhil Kachhawa and Rs 9 lakh from Pawan Soni.
Premprakash told that he had mortgaged about 6 tola gold jewelery with Pawan Soni as security. These included necklace, chain, seven bangles, mangalsutra, locket, earrings and bracelet. According to him, out of Rs 9 lakh taken from Pawan Soni, Rs 6 lakh had been repaid. Despite this, it is alleged that her gold jewelery was not returned. In the complaint, Premprakash has alleged that after the increase in the price of gold, the intentions of the accused changed and the amount started increasing by adding interest on interest.
Allegation of converting the amount of Rs 16 lakh to Rs 50-60 lakh
Premprakash alleges that the moneylenders increased his principal amount to around Rs 50-60 lakh by adding interest. They were also threatened to recover 10 times the amount from them. According to the complaint, blank checks were also given to Nikhil Kachhawa as security. Rajesh Sankhla and Lokesh Sankhla are accused of fraudulently taking Premprakash to the court and getting him to sign plain papers without reading them. Premprakash has also alleged that he is receiving constant threats over the phone. According to him, he was told that if he complained to the police, he would be killed and his house would be taken over.
Premprakash’s mental condition deteriorated amid constant tension and alleged threats. He attempted suicide on 23 August. The family took him to Jodhpur for treatment, where he was treated. According to the family, Premprakash is currently taking medicines for depression. Due to busyness related to treatment and hospital, there was delay in filing the complaint with the police. After this, on September 25, Premprakash himself reached the Kotwali police station and lodged a complaint about the entire matter.
On the basis of the complaint, the Kotwali police has registered a case under sections 318(4) and 316(2) of the Indian Judicial Code. The investigation of the case has been handed over to ASI Ramkailash. Kotwali police station in-charge Nandlal Rinwa said that Premprakash Bihani had repaid the borrowed amount from time to time for business needs. Despite this, the complaint has alleged that 10 to 20 percent interest will be charged. According to the police station in-charge, due to increasing alleged torture, Premprakash had to be admitted to the hospital and went into depression. He told that the case has been registered directly at the police station. The matter is being investigated and arrest action will be taken against the accused if evidence is found.
Investigation against seven people
The names of Laxman Gaur, Arjun Gaur, Nikhil Kachchawa, Pawan Soni, Rajesh Sankhla, Lokesh Sankhla and Akash Tiwari have come to light in this case. All Nagaur Are mentioned in the area. At present the police is investigating the entire matter. Police have also given instructions to ensure the safety of Premprakash. The status of the entire matter will be clear only after investigation of the allegations related to loan, interest, gold jewelery and threats made in the complaint.
