British MP Rupert Lowe has again sparked debate on Britain’s grooming gang scandal with his speech in Parliament. He read the testimony of the victims in this speech. He told Parliament that the whole world should hear what was said during the hearing of the two-week investigation into the rape gang. He claimed that one victim, between the ages of 13 and 16, was raped by 600-700 different men. Lowe said there were signs of organized child sexual exploitation in at least 85 areas of Britain. Testimonies read in parliament included allegations of gang rape, violence, threats and racial insults. A testimony said that the victim was given drugs and handed over to several people. They were kept imprisoned in cages. The second victim alleged that if she protested, she was threatened with death and harm to her family. Rupert Lowe said- We can no longer remain silent on these matters. In August last year, Lowe had said that men of Pakistani origin were mainly involved in the rape case. They have been running the gang for decades and their numbers are much more than estimated. The special thing was that most of the accused were of Pakistani origin. The accused first gain trust, then exploit through threats, violence, drugs or blackmail. In 2002, the then Labor MP Ann Cryer first warned that gangs of men of Pakistani origin were exploiting girls in Keighley, West Yorkshire. In 2010, five men were convicted of sexually abusing underage girls in Rotherham.
