According to the police, 53-year-old Hemant alias Nagindas Parshottamdas Modi was serving life imprisonment in a murder case that took place in Naroda area of ​​Ahmedabad in 2005. A case was registered against the accused under sections 302, 324, 147, 148, 149, 120(B) of the IPC and section 135(1) of the BP Act.

Ahmedabad Crime Branch Police Inspector PM Dhakhra said that Hemant had come out on parole in 2014, but did not return to jail. After this he remained absconding for 12 consecutive years. The Crime Branch arrested Hemant on Wednesday near Ghikanta Metro Station in Ahmedabad. Police had received information about his arrival in the city from local informers.

Apart from this, he also appeared in TV shows like ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’ and ‘Mere Sai’. Ahmedabad Police has again sent Hemant to Mehsana jail, where he will complete the remaining sentence.
