A heart-wrenching accident occurred on Saturday evening in Ani area under Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. Due to a sudden storm on Shamshar-Gugra road, a huge pine tree fell on the moving Bolero vehicle. In this accident, four female teachers traveling in the vehicle died tragically, while three others were seriously injured. Uncontrolled vehicle fell into 200 feet deep ditch According to the information, 6 female teachers and the driver were returning home in Bolero (number HP01K-4621) after school. Due to a strong storm that came around 5:30 in the evening, a heavy tree fell on the moving vehicle. Due to the falling of a tree, the car went out of control and fell into a deep ditch about 200 feet below the road. Local people launched a rescue operation. On hearing the sound of the accident, nearby villagers immediately reached the spot and informed the police. With the help of local people, relief and rescue work was started and after a lot of effort, the female teachers and the driver buried under the debris were taken out and taken to Civil Hospital, Ani. When the deceased and injured victims of the accident reached the hospital, doctors declared four female teachers dead, while two seriously injured teachers were referred to IGMC Shimla after first aid. Names of the injured: Suresh Chand (driver): S/o Desh Raj, resident of Ropri. Tara Devi: Wife of Ravindra Kumar, resident of Ropri. Reena Kumari: Wife Prem Sagar, resident of Sarkaghat (Mandi). Bus full of passengers narrowly escaped: According to eyewitnesses, a bus and other vehicles were also passing through the route at the time of the accident. It was fortunate that the tree fell directly on the Bolero, otherwise the death toll could have increased due to being hit by the bus. As soon as the information was received, teams of police, administration and fire brigade also reached the spot. Announcement of immediate relief by the administration, SDM Ani, Laxman Kanet has expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said that the administration has provided immediate relief amount of Rs 25-25 thousand to the families of the deceased and Rs 5-5 thousand to the injured. The police have taken the bodies into their custody and sent them for post-mortem and have started investigating the matter. Chief Minister expressed grief over the accident. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep grief over the death of four people in the accident in Ani area. Expressing his condolences to the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to God for the peace of the souls of the deceased. He wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has directed the district administration to provide all possible assistance to the affected families and ensure best medical facilities to the injured.
