RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat is on Britain tour. On Sunday, he participated in the Celebration Oneness program in London. In this program he spoke on Hindutva, Hindu nation, service and the future of society.
He said that the basis of the Sangh’s work is not hatred. On the contrary, its basis is pure sattvik love. Connecting people in the society and having affinity towards everyone is part of the Sangh’s thinking.
Bhagwat said that belongingness is the most important key to understand the Sangh. In Hindu thinking, family, society, humanity and nature are all interconnected. A Hindu is not just a person who worships. He also loves nature. Therefore man should not try to conquer nature. Man himself is a part of nature.
‘Individual, society and nature move forward together’
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat Said that development should not be only about the individual. It is necessary for individual, society, humanity and nature to progress together. If only the individual is given importance then the society will be weak. If only society is given importance then individual freedom may be lost. Therefore, it is very important to maintain a balance between the two.
He said that Hindu thought involves seeing the world as a unit. Because of this, a feeling of accepting different ideas and diversity arises. Diversity is natural. But it is important to see unity behind it. His message was that there should be more emphasis on what connects people.
In response to a question on Hindu nation and Hindutva, Bhagwat said that Hindu cannot be understood only on the basis of religious identity. He described it as a nature and thinking. He says that in India there have been people ranging from atheists to theists and people with different views. Hindu thinking claims that different paths can be accepted.
Bhagwat also explained the difference between nation and nation. He said that in the modern sense, nation is often associated with a state and its system. But the basis of ‘nation’ is not only the governance system. There is a purpose and shared consciousness behind it.
Bhagwat said that the aim of Hindu Rashtra is to tell the world that diversity is natural and unity is reality. There were changes in kings and governance systems in India. Sometimes there was a republic and sometimes there was also foreign rule. But India’s social and national consciousness remained intact.
He said that India’s progress does not mean going against any other country. Rather, if India progresses, the whole world should benefit from it. He said that India’s progress should be for peace, prosperity and humanity.
Message given to Hindus living in Britain of loyalty to Karmabhoomi
Regarding Hindus living in Britain, Bhagwat said that they should remain loyal to where their place of work is. British Hindus should go with Britain and be true to their country. There is no contradiction in being associated with India and remaining loyal to Britain.
He said that work can be done with the spirit of Think Globally, Act Locally. If anyone has time and resources he can serve India. But this does not end his responsibility towards his workplace.
Bhagwat also described service as an important part of the Sangh’s thinking. He said that service is not doing a favor to anyone. The person serving should consider it a good fortune. He said that good service is one in which the person who is getting help, later on becomes the one who helps others.
He expressed confidence in the youth. Said that the new generation has a desire to make the world better. Youth should be given purpose and experiences should be shared. But our ways should not be imposed on them. They should get a chance to find their way. The coming generations can do better work for the country and the world.
