The new wage rates in corporations, boards and government departments will be applicable from January 1. Delivery partners in e-commerce companies will no longer be able to use diesel-petrol vehicles. The first batch of Agniveer will retire in June this year. This new year is also going to be important from political point of view. Two Rajya Sabha seats will be vacant on April 9. On which a direct fight will be seen between BJP and Congress.

1. Acting DGP retired after 79 days, Singhal is the new DGP. The new Director General of Police (DGP) will take charge in the state on the very first day of the new year, i.e. on January 1. The government discussed the names of 3 IPS officers for this post. Among these, 1992 batch IPS Ajay Singhal was the government’s choice. Apart from him, the names of former DGP Shatrujit Kapoor and 1993 batch IPS Alok Mittal were in the final panel. After the retirement of IPS OP Singh on December 31, the government has made this new announcement on this post. OP Singh remained on this post for 79 days.
2. New wages implemented from today, part time and daily wage workers benefit
New wage rates will be applicable in government departments, boards, corporations and public undertakings in Haryana from January 1, 2026. Till now all the districts were allotted in 2 categories, which have now been divided into 3 categories. After which all the districts have been divided into 3 categories. 1.20 lakh (as of 2025) raw employees are working in various government departments, boards and corporations, whose recruitment is on contract basis.
3. Ban on petrol and diesel vehicles in online taxi-aggregator fleet.
The government has made changes in the online taxi-aggregator fleet in Haryana from January 1. According to the new rules, motor vehicle aggregators, delivery service providers and e-commerce companies will not be allowed to add any new petrol or diesel vehicles to their fleet. This step has been taken by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) towards reducing pollution in the National Capital Region and surrounding areas.
4. 13 IAS are retiring, there will be a big change in bureaucracy
Along with Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who got one year extension, 13 IAS officers will retire this year. These include IAS officer Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) level Raja Shekhar Vundru and Arun Kumar Gupta, Central Government Secretary Abhilaksh Likhi, Principal Secretary level KD Suresh. Arun Kumar Gupta is currently the Principal Secretary to Haryana CM Nayab Saini.
5. Rajya Sabha seats of Kiran and Jangra will be vacant Elections will be held on 2 Rajya Sabha seats in Haryana on New Year. The tenure of Rajya Sabha MPs Ramchandra Jangra and Kiran Choudhary on these seats is ending on 9 April 2026. Before this, the process of Rajya Sabha elections can start in March. Based on the numerical strength of MLAs in the Assembly, 1 seat is likely to go to BJP and 1 seat to Congress. The leaders of BJP and Congress have already started preparations to capture both these seats.
6. First batch of fire fighters will retire, 10% reservation in Haryana The four-year tenure of the first batch of Agniveers will be completed in July 2026. Haryana Government has announced several benefits for them including age relaxation and reservation (up to 10%) in government jobs (e.g. police, jail warden). The government has provided many facilities for former firefighters under ‘Haryana Agniveer Policy 2024’.
7. AI will start in schools in the new session The Haryana government has made it clear that the education of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and computational thinking will be implemented in all schools from Class 3 from the 2026-27 academic session. This decision is completely in accordance with the New Education Policy (NEP 2020). The government says AI and computational thinking are core parts of the future of education.
