Talking about Haryana, 4 cities of the state have come in the red category and 12 cities have come in the orange category. Whereas, the situation in 5 cities of Punjab including Chandigarh is worrying.
According to the Meteorological Department, the wind flow is expected to be towards the east today and Wednesday. In such a situation, these two days are being considered very worrying for Punjab and Haryana.
AQI has crossed 300 in 4 cities of Haryana – Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Gurugram and Hisar. Hisar’s AQI has been recorded at 379, which is just 2 points less than Delhi’s AQI 381.
Improvement in pollution has been seen in Amritsar and Ludhiana in Punjab. In Amritsar, which was the most polluted city in the country yesterday, the AQI has come down from 200 to 188. Similarly, Ludhiana’s AQI was recorded at 184. But the AQI in Chandigarh including Jalandhar, Khanna, Mandi Gobindgarh, and Patiala is still above 200.
0 cases in Haryana, 13 cases in Punjab No case of stubble burning has been reported in Haryana in the last 24 hours. This is a news of relief. Whereas according to the data of Punjab Remote Sensing Centre, only 13 incidents of farm fires were recorded in Punjab on Monday. Due to which the total number of cases of stubble burning increased to 4,145. According to the data, active fire incidents were seen in Firozpur (5), Sangrur (3), Bathinda (2), Patiala (2) and Faridkot (1).
Punjab-Haryana have to give data on 14th November A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Monday in the case of pollution and stubble burning in Delhi. In which Punjab and Haryana governments were asked to give the data of 10 days along with an affidavit by 14th November. During the hearing, the Supreme Court ordered that Punjab and Haryana will have to file affidavits furnishing details of incidents of stubble burning during the last 10 days.

Center rejected Punjab government’s demand The Center has rejected the Punjab government’s demand for incentive money to stop farmers from burning stubble. The Central Government said in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court that the Punjab Government, like the Haryana Government, can give incentives to farmers from its budget, so that the cases of stubble burning can be reduced. The Punjab government had stated the need for an incentive amount of Rs 1200 crore to stop farmers from burning stubble.
There are no signs of relief anytime soon To control pollution, the state and central governments are looking towards rain. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain till mid-November. Actually, the major reason for winter rain in North India is Western Disturbance. But till now Western Disturbance is not forming. The reason behind this is the winds blowing towards the east, while the pressure in the Bay of Bengal is also preventing the weather change in North India.
This is the reason why there has been no snowfall in the upper areas of Himachal yet. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature is expected to be 2 to 3 degrees higher than normal even in the month of November.
