In this case, the name of 18 year old Sameer, resident of Devdu village of Sonipat, has come to light for the first time in talking to the suspected accused Rehan. On the night of the incident itself, the Sonipat STF team had detained Sameer for questioning, who is currently in police custody. Sameer’s family is completely devastated after their son’s name comes in the case and is picked up by the police. While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, Sameer’s mother Manju and aunt Babli cried and pleaded to release their son, calling him innocent. Kidney failure at the age of 14, goes to school every day. Mother Manju told that Sameer is her youngest son and studies in class 12th. He goes to school every day, whose regular attendance can also be seen. The mother told that when Sameer was 14 years old (during Covid in 2021), his kidneys were badly affected due to eating fast food and infection. There was swelling on his body, since then he has been on medication and has been admitted to the hospital several times. Due to illness, after returning from school, he would lie down on the bed and would not even come out of the house. Rehaan was only a childhood neighbor, the name was related to the Instagram photo. Sameer’s aunt Babli told that in childhood, Rehaan and Sameer’s family used to be neighbors of each other in village Devdu. However, later Sameer’s family shifted out of the village to a colony. Earlier also, Sameer’s name had come up in the case of uploading of a photo with a weapon on Instagram, on which the family members say that his name was dragged just because he was a friend, whereas he has nothing to do with any criminal network or illegal activity. Demand for CCTV footage and investigation from neighbours. Sameer’s father Hasan does a private job and apart from Sameer, there are 3 other siblings (including a married sister) in the family. Mother Manju told that CCTV cameras are installed in their house, through which Sameer’s daily movements can be checked. The family members have appealed to the police administration that anyone in the village or neighborhood can be asked about Sameer’s character. The police should investigate this matter impartially and release their innocent and sick son as soon as possible. Mother cried after her son’s name was revealed, said – free him. Manju became emotional after her son’s name was revealed. Crying, he said that his son had no fault whatsoever. He pleaded that his son should be released. The mother declared her son innocent and talked about his illness, going to school regularly and being confined to home.
