Playback singer Abhay Jodhpurkar, a resident of Sendhwa in Barwani district, received the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony on Tuesday. Abhay got recognition in Hindi cinema from ‘Mere Naam Tu’. Abhay got popularity in Hindi cinema with the song ‘Mere Naam Tu’ from Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Zero’. For this song, he received the honor of ‘Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year’ at the Mirchi Music Awards in 2019. Apart from Hindi, Abhay has also sung songs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi languages. After many awards, Abhay received the National Award for Best Playback Singer for ‘Kadal’ in 2013. In 2017, he also received an award for the song ‘Vanamagan’. Received Mirchi Music Award for ‘Mere Naam Tu’ in 2019. In 2022, he also received the Mirchi Music Award for Marathi music.
