More than six years have passed since the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, but this matter continues to be discussed even today. Rathore claims that while seeing Sushant’s mortal remains, I saw some things on the body which raised questions in my mind. He says that at that time I also gave a complaint to the police and concerned authorities, but my statement was not recorded. I will now demand a re-investigation from the Maharashtra Human Rights Commission. Rathore said – After seeing Sushant’s dead body, only one word came out of Rhea’s mouth – ‘Sorry Babu.’ Question: Why are you raising the Sushant Singh Rajput case after six years? Surjit Singh Rathore: For me it is not just a matter. When a family feels that it has not got justice then it is important to raise its voice. I reached Cooper Hospital on 15 June 2020. After what I saw there, many questions arose in my mind. I expressed my views at that time also and even today I stand by the same point. I say that if a person has put forward something serious then at least his statement should be recorded. My statement was not recorded. Even today I want my views to be heard and the facts to be re-examined. On June 15, 2020, I reached Cooper Hospital. Dhoni Entertainment producer Sandeep Singh also came there. Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty came there and expressed her desire to see Sushant for the last time. After taking permission from the mortuary staff, Riya and I went inside. Sushant’s mortal remains were taken out from the deep freezer. I removed the cloth from his face. At that time only one word came out of Riya’s mouth – ‘Sorry Babu.’ I was surprised at that time why he said this. A question came to my mind, what was she apologizing for? Although this may be his personal feeling and I cannot tell its meaning with certainty. This thought definitely came to my mind at that time. When we came out of the mortuary, Riya’s mother, father and brother wanted to go inside, but the mortuary staff did not allow them. After this they left from there. Later, through a channel, it was said on Riya’s behalf that she had not seen Sushant inside the mortuary. I have to say that I went inside with them, so I have questions about this. Question: You have also raised questions regarding Maharashtra Human Rights Commission. Now why did you write the letter again? Surjit Singh Rathore: I have expressed my views again by sending a letter and e-mail to the present Chairman of Maharashtra Human Rights Commission. My demand is that my statement should be recorded and it should be seen on what basis clean chit was given to Cooper Hospital and Rhea Chakraborty at that time. My only question is that if I was claiming to be an eyewitness to that incident then why was my statement not taken? At least you would have called me and asked what you had seen. Question: You also talk about the connection between Sushant and Disha Salian’s death. What is your basis? Surjit Singh Rathore: I believe that the links between both the incidents should also be looked into under investigation. Both Sushant and Disha were friends. Sushant knew some things related to Disha and was angry about it. In this, Disha was upset with Aditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi and Dino Morea. Sushant was also angry with all of them on this. I claim that Sushant had talked about raising this matter in front of some people. I feel that whatever factual links there are between these two cases, there should be an impartial investigation. I want the investigating agency to present all the facts and the truth should be revealed to the country. I have already raised questions about the role of some people, but the final conclusion should be taken by the investigating agency only. If there was any conspiracy then it should be unearthed and if there was not then it should also be clearly revealed what is the answer to every question related to Sushant’s death. Question: How long was your personal meeting with Sushant? Surjit Singh Rathore: I want to make it clear that I had no deep personal friendship with Sushant. We met once or twice at film premieres and other events in Mumbai. There was also a conversation on phone regarding a project. When there was a movement going on in Rajasthan regarding the film Padmavat. At that time Sushant had given some statements regarding Rajput society. Later he also removed the surname from his name. Then I called him and told him to do his work. In this case you do not need to worry. He told me that he is in the film industry and sometimes one has to understand some things while being in the industry. Question: Now you are also preparing to make a film on Sushant Singh Rajput. What is the reason for this? Surjit Singh Rathore: Yes, we are preparing to make a film on Sushant. Currently work on its story is going on. My aim of this film is not to earn money. I want that the questions raised in this entire matter, the incidents that came to light and whatever I saw or knew, should be conveyed to the people through cinema. We don’t want to rush. If we are making a film on real events then it is important to show every fact responsibly, hence a lot of work is being done on the script. I want to show who all came into Sushant’s life, what events happened around him and what kind of events unfolded after his death.
