The Supreme Court rejected the PIL seeking to declare Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose as ‘Son of the Nation’ and give credit for India’s independence to Azad Hind Fauj (INA). The court described the petitioner as “incorrigible” and made strong remarks. On Monday, the bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi reprimanded petitioner Pinakpani Mohanty. The court said that he had already filed a similar petition and now he was wasting the court’s time. The court warned that if this continues, the petitioner may be banned from coming to the Supreme Court. Also, the registry was instructed not to approve any of their PILs in future. 3 demands of the petitioner, the petition was rejected even 2 years ago. Mohanty had earlier filed a PIL in 2024 demanding an investigation into the death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. In that case, a bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice KV Vishwanathan had questioned the intentions of the petitioner. Also a question was asked on the timing of filing the petition in the context of elections.
