At the Janta Ki Adalat rally at Jantar Mantar, Sisodia alleged that the BJP made several attempts to separate him from Kejriwal.
Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that his relationship with Arvind Kejriwal is like that of Ram and Laxman. No Ravana has the power to break their relationship. Sisodia said this at Kejriwal’s first ‘Janta Ki Adalat’ rally at Jantar Mantar on Sunday.
The AAP leader said, ‘Kejriwal has been my friend for the last 26 years. In these 26 years, we used to meet every day. We used to talk about the country every day. We did not stay apart even for 18 hours, but the BJP kept us apart for 18 months.’
Sisodia said, ‘BJP people tried very hard to break me, to separate me from the party. When I told my wife about how I will face the workers and myself if I leave Kejriwal. So my wife said that forget about the workers and yourself, if you think of betraying Kejriwal then how will you face me.’
Delhi CM Atishi also attended the Janta Ki Adalat program. Manish Sisodia and Saurabh Bhardwaj were also present with her.
Sisodia said- BJP had said if you take Kejriwal’s name, you will be saved Sisodia claimed that he was forced to join the BJP after going to jail in the Delhi liquor policy case. Sisodia said, ‘The BJP people said in the court that Kejriwal had named Sisodia in the Delhi liquor policy case.

Former Deputy CM said- I had to beg for my son’s fees Sisodia said, ‘When I was a journalist, I bought a small house for Rs 5 lakh in 2002. I had Rs 10 lakh in my bank account. ED seized my house. The bank account was frozen. My son is studying in college. I had to beg in front of people to pay his fees.

21 September: Atishi becomes the new CM of Delhi, touches Kejriwal’s feet after taking oath
Atishi touched Kejriwal’s feet after taking oath as Delhi CM.
Atishi took oath as the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday. She was administered the oath by Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Saxena at Raj Niwas. After the oath, Atishi touched the feet of Arvind Kejriwal.
She is the youngest CM of Delhi (43 years). Earlier, Kejriwal became CM at the age of 45. Atishi is the third woman CM of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit.
Atishi kept 13 departments with herself including education, PWD and finance. Saurabh Bhardwaj was given the responsibility of 8 important departments including health. Atishi is a three-time MLA from Kalkaji seat.
September 17: Kejriwal submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena
On 17 September, Kejriwal submitted his resignation to the Lieutenant Governor and Atishi moved a proposal to form a new government.
Kejriwal submitted his resignation from the post of CM to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) on the evening of 17 September. Atishi and 4 ministers were present with him. After this, Atishi staked claim to form a new government.

- There is a Chief Minister, but no power: In the Delhi liquor policy case, Arvind Kejriwal came out of jail on bail after 177 days. The Supreme Court laid down a condition that he will not go to the CM office nor sign any file. That means he has no power even after coming out of jail and being the Chief Minister.
- only 5 Month tenure left: The term of the Delhi Assembly is ending in February 2025. That means the government has only 5 months left for the elections. During this time, governments take populist electoral decisions. Kejriwal is bound by the conditions of the court. There is sympathy with Kejriwal after his release from jail. Kejriwal would like to capitalize on this by demanding elections in Delhi two-three months earlier.

Kejriwal’s name was involved in many controversies during his tenure as Chief Minister
- Accused of taking Rs 133 crore from Khalistani organizations: In March 2024, the World Hindu Federation alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s party had taken Rs 133 crore from Khalistani terrorist groups between 2014 and 2022 to secure the release of Devendra Pal Bhullar. After this, VK Saxena recommended an NIA inquiry against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. However, AAP denied the allegations.
- Delhi Liquor Policy Scam: In 2021, the Kejriwal government brought a new liquor policy. In July 2022, the LG recommended a CBI inquiry, citing irregularities in it. In August 2022, ED-CBI registered cases. Kejriwal was arrested by ED and CBI, calling him the mastermind of the scam. The Supreme Court granted bail in the ED case in July and in the CBI case in September. He remained in Tihar Jail for about 177 days.
- Transfer-posting of officers: On May 11, 2023, the Supreme Court gave the right to control the transfer-posting of officers to the Delhi government. It also said that the Delhi LG will work only on the advice of the state government. Shortly after this order, CM Arvind Kejriwal removed Service Secretary Ashish More. - Claim of fraud Sukesh- Gifts were given in exchange for the project: Fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar has written a letter to Delhi LG Saxena saying that he had sent furniture for house renovation as a gift for getting a project in Karol Bagh. This included furniture of Ralph Lauren and Visionaire brands. Apart from this, he also gave him silver crockery worth Rs 90 lakh.
