Question: How did your journey move from science to art, then to cinema?
answer: Paths are made while moving. I never thought about what people would say. Did whatever felt good. If there was no cinema, he would have expressed it in painting, he would have expressed it in music. Expression is necessary. Nothing is ever born from fear.
Question: There were controversies on many of your films, were you not scared?
answer: There is no use in fear. The job of cinema is to communicate with the society. Not everyone likes every story. But if you are not intentionally harming anyone, then there is no need to be afraid.
Question: The social and political impact of your cinema has always been deep. Where does this courage come from?
answer: From stories. Our land and society are full of stories. Cinema may not be able to bring about change, but dialogue can definitely do it.

Question: You worked with big artists together. How is this balance achieved?
answer: We don’t manage anything. All artists want to work. When they see their place in the story, everyone works honestly. There has never been any ego problem on my set.
Question: Did Ashram play a big role in the new phase of Bobby Deol’s career?
answer:Bobby has always been a good actor. I wanted a face that had both simplicity and darkness. Just found the right time and the right story.
Question: Are the audiences excited about your next films and the sequel of Politics?
answer: Work is going on. Movies will continue to be made on politics, because politics never ends. Work is going on on the script of Raajneeti 2, work is also going on on Manadesh, and work is also going on on the script of the new season of Ashram.

Question: What is the definition of success for you?
answer: If you get a peaceful sleep after working all day, then that is the biggest success.
Question: Your message for young filmmakers?
answer: Believe in yourself, stand firm and don’t be afraid. If you keep working, you will definitely get recognition.
