Thalapathy Vijay’s party TVK (Tamil Vetri Kazhagam) has won 108 seats in the Tamil Nadu elections. Just after the election results came out, one of his party workers was arrested for raping a minor. After the news came out, South’s popular singer Chinamai Sripada has raised questions on Vijay’s party and criticized him. Chinmai Sripada, reacting to the arrest of Thalapathy Vijay’s party worker, wrote on the official Instagram account, ‘Men who commit sexual crimes often try to reach where they see power and opportunity to escape. TVK (Tamil Vetri Kazhagam) has accused a man of sexually assaulting a minor. The party should have done his proper background check first. Chinamayi Sripada further wrote, ‘If people who promise change also make such mistakes, then hope for the safety of children and women diminishes. It is not good to say again and again that “everyone is the same”, but such incidents force people to think the same. Why is Vijay’s party in controversy? Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay’s party has recently been arrested. He is accused of sexually abusing a 10 year old girl. The accused has been identified as Dinesh alias Pambu Dinesh. The victim’s family had filed a complaint against him this week, after which he was arrested. Vijay will become CM if he wins the election unilaterally and gets majority. Vijay formed Tamil Vetri Kazhagam party 2 years ago. His party contested all 234 seats in the Tamil Nadu elections, out of which the party won 108 seats. However, 118 seats are required for majority. Vijay himself contested and won from two seats, Perambur and Tiruchirappalli. If Vijay’s party gets majority, he can become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The results of Tamil Nadu elections came on Trisha Krishnan’s birthday i.e. 4th May. On the same day, Trisha first visited Tirupati temple and then reached Vijay’s house.
