Henry the crocodile has been living in the conservation center for 30 years
Henry has been living at the Crocworld Conservation Center in Scottburg, South Africa for the past 30 years. Nile crocodiles are found in 26 countries in Africa. They are generally known for their aggressive nature. They are found in rivers, ponds and swamps. They often prey on animals like zebras and porcupines.
Every year hundreds of people become victims of crocodiles in Africa. Henry of Botswana is the oldest crocodile, but the title of the longest crocodile is held by Cassius of Australia. This 16 feet long crocodile was caught in Queensland in 1984. In the year 2011, his name was registered in the Guinness World Record for the longest crocodile.
A crocodile ate a 12 year old girl
Earlier in July, a crocodile had eaten a 12-year-old girl in Australia. According to Australian media ABC, the girl had gone to learn swimming. When the family could not find any trace of the girl till late night, they lodged a missing complaint with the police.
To find the girl, the police sought the help of the local people. For this, the police formed a special team of the park’s operator and the forest department. After this, the girl’s blood-soaked clothes were found near the swimming pool the next evening. When the police intensified the investigation, the remains of the girl were found at a short distance in the crocodile area.
