After the tremendous success of the web series Scam 1992 in the year 2021, Hansal Mehta and his family started receiving continuous threatening calls from a caller. The caller told his name as Rohit.

Hansal Mehta had lodged a complaint with Mumbai Police regarding this matter, after which he was given police protection. Even before this, in 2009, he had received threats during the controversy over the dialogues of a film.

The web series ‘Scam 1992’ was released on Sony Liv on 9 October 2020.

Security for Salman’s manager in 2023

At the same time, police protection was provided to Salman Khan’s manager Prashant Gunjalkar in the year 2023. In March 2023, Prashant Gunjalkar received an email from the name ‘Mohit Garg’, in which a demand was made to talk to Salman by mentioning Goldie Brar. They were threatened with bad consequences if they did not agree. He got security after the FIR.

Security continues to be provided to Sajid Nadiadwala, Ayush Sharma, Munawar Farooqui, Govinda and AP Dhillon. Police say that security is reviewed from time to time based on threat assessment and further decisions are taken accordingly.
