The Governor sent back Vijay, the leader of the largest party TVK, who had come to stake claim to form the government, citing lack of majority. Speculations are also being made about the coming together of two opposition parties like DMK and AIADMK. Amidst all this, resort politics has started in the state.

AIADMK Has sent its 15 MLAs to Puducherry. There is an NDA government in the Union Territory of Puducherry and in an attempt to reduce the chances of disunity to zero, the party has sent its MLAs there. According to information received from sources, CV Shanmugam, close to AIADMK chief Palaniswami, has booked more than 20 rooms in ‘The Shore Trishwam’ resort. Many MLAs have reached Puducherry, while many are still on the way.

AIADMK sources say that more rooms can also be booked in the coming days, because the situation of government formation is constantly changing. AIADMK has taken this step at a time when some of its MLAs have expressed their opinion in favor of supporting Vijay-led TVK. There is also discussion about back channel talks regarding alliance with AIADMK’s main rival DMK.

AIADMK sources have confirmed this and said that the situation regarding the alliance is not clear yet. To keep its MLAs united amid the alliance exercise, the party decided to send them to a resort in Puducherry. It is noteworthy that Vijay had met the Governor to stake claim to form the government. Vijay had also submitted the letters of support of 112 MLAs to the Governor, but the Governor had asked him to bring the letters of support of 118 MLAs.
