Amid speculations of change of power in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar has reacted openly for the first time. He clearly said that there is no tussle in the Congress government of the state and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will complete his tenure. Shivkumar gave a detailed clarification on the social media platform
Shivkumar wrote, “All 140 MLAs are my MLAs. It is not in my blood to form any group. The Chief Minister and I have always said that we are fully committed to the decision of the high command.”
He also said that some MLAs going to Delhi was not a sign of any political pressure or factionalism, but it was a normal political behavior to meet the leadership before the possible cabinet expansion.
He clearly said, “The Chief Minister has decided that he will reshuffle the cabinet. It is everyone’s right to become a minister, so it is absolutely normal for MLAs to meet the leadership. We cannot stop anyone.”
Expressing full support to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar said, “The CM has said that he will complete his five-year tenure. I wish him all the best and we will all work together with him.”
This week, many MLAs considered Shivkumar supporters suddenly reached Delhi. There was speculation in political circles regarding this that Karnataka Preparations are underway for a new effort to change leadership. Some leaders even named it ‘November Revolution’. It is in this background that Shivkumar’s statement came out today, in which he completely rejected such claims.
