The nuclear deal that was stuck for almost two decades between America and Saudi Arabia was signed on Wednesday, but within 24 hours the deal got stuck.
President Donald Trump has added a new condition to the agreement. He said the deal will move forward only when Saudi Arabia joins the Abraham Accords and normalizes diplomatic relations with Israel.
Trump also said that Saudi Arabia will not be allowed to enrich uranium.

Trump posted on Truth Social asking Saudi to join the Abraham Accords.
Trump angry over announcement of deal without informing
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright attended the signing ceremony in Washington. According to the report, Trump was upset that Wright announced the deal without his approval. After this, his anger increased further due to the criticism in Fox News and Wall Street Journal.
According to the report, the White House had asked the Energy Department to postpone the announcement of the agreement, but the department also held the signing ceremony and also informed about it in the media. However, the White House says that the terms of the Abraham Accords were part of Trump’s policy from the beginning. The Energy Department denied any differences.

Trump’s new condition surprised Saudi also
According to CNN report, Saudi Arabia was also surprised by Trump’s announcement. The draft of the agreement included permission for Saudi Arabia to enrich uranium on its land if certain conditions were met, but Trump publicly rejected it.
Both the countries had initiated nuclear energy cooperation about two decades ago. A preliminary agreement was reached in October last year. According to reports, the deal remained stalled for months due to the Iran war and possible objections from Congress. Last week, the Energy Department felt that it had received Trump’s approval, after which it was announced.
Nuclear experts expressed concern over the permit for uranium enrichment and the absence of additional IAEA safeguards protocols. At the same time, supporters argued that if America retreats, then China or Russia can strengthen their strategic hold in Saudi Arabia.
After all, what are the Abraham Accords, due to which the deal got stuck?
In fact, the Abraham Accords is an agreement signed at the initiative of America in 2020, under which some Arab countries normalized their relations with Israel for the first time. UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan have joined Israel under this.
Now America wants Saudi Arabia to also become a part of this agreement. Trump believes that if Saudi normalizes relations with Israel, America’s strategic alliance in West Asia will become stronger.
The report said that the Biden administration was also pushing the Saudi nuclear deal by linking it to normalizing relations with Israel.
However, this process stopped after the Hamas attack of 7 October 2023 and the Gaza War. Saudi says it will not establish official relations with Israel unless the path is cleared for a separate state for Palestine. This is the reason why now the nuclear deal is also stuck on this condition.

Why does Saudi need nuclear energy despite oil?
The question is that if Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest oil producers, has no shortage of oil, then why does it need nuclear energy? The reason for this is Vision-2030. Under this, Saudi does not want to keep its economy and energy system dependent only on oil.
In fact, the demand for electricity in the country is continuously increasing and currently a large part of it is met by oil and gas. If electricity starts being generated from nuclear energy, the consumption of oil and gas will reduce. With this, Saudi will be able to export more oil and its earnings will also increase.
Along with this, Saudi wants to make its energy system more strong and balanced for the future by increasing the use of solar, wind and nuclear energy. Under this strategy, it has been trying for civil nuclear cooperation with other countries including America for a long time.
Why did Trump deny uranium enrichment?
To run a nuclear power plant, uranium is enriched to a certain level. But if this technology reaches a very high level, then the same uranium can also be used to make nuclear weapons. Therefore uranium enrichment is considered among the most sensitive nuclear technologies in the world.
This is why America usually avoids allowing any country to do uranium enrichment on its soil. He fears that in future this technology may also be used for military programs. There is a similar concern about Saudi Arabia, so Trump made it clear that there will be a nuclear deal, but uranium enrichment will not be allowed.
