BJP on Wednesday announced its new in-charges and co-in-charges in all the states. According to the list released by party president Nitin Naveen, Smriti Irani has been made in-charge of Chhattisgarh and Haryana. Ram Madhav has been given the responsibility of Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand.
The names of in-charges of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat are also in this list. The in-charges of these three states were appointed on August 18 itself. Vinod Tawde, who won the Bihar elections, has been made in-charge of UP.
The responsibility of Punjab has been given to Satish Poonia. The responsibility of Gujarat has been handed over to Tarun Chugh. On August 18, the party had said that in-charges and co-in-charges of the remaining states would be appointed later.
5 leaders including Smriti-Poonia given responsibility of two states each
BJP has given the responsibility of two states each to 5 leaders. Harish Dwivedi has been made in-charge of Bihar and Karnataka, Smriti Irani of Chhattisgarh and Haryana, Satish Poonia of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, Ram Madhav of Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand, while Sunil Bansal has been made in-charge of Telangana and West Bengal. Whereas in Maharashtra, two in-charges have been appointed – Baijayant Jai Panda and Amit Malviya.
No co-in-charge in 12 states-union territories
BJP has not appointed any co-in-charge in 12 states-union territories. This includes Andaman-Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Ladakh and Lakshadweep. In Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim and Tripura, only in-charges have been appointed, there is no co-in-charge.
