Actress Shilpa Shetty’s restaurant Bastion is a popular name for the people of Mumbai. Recently, famous writer and socialite Shobha De talked about Shilpa’s Bastian popularity.
He told that the nightly earning of this restaurant is Rs 2-3 crore, and customers spend lakhs of rupees for a night out.
While talking about Barkha Dutt’s Mojo story, Shobha said, ‘The kind of earning in Mumbai is astonishing. The turnover of a restaurant in Mumbai is Rs 2-3 crore in a night.
On slow nights, the business is Rs 2 crore and on weekends it is Rs 3 crore. I went to that restaurant myself to see because when I heard these figures I said this cannot be true.
When Barkha Dutt asked her which restaurant she was talking about, she said- ‘It is Bastion. This is the new Bastion. This one tops them all. Spread over 21,000 square feet, it is beyond reality. Going there you think ‘where am I?’ You get a 360° view of the city.’

Shobha further said- ‘The restaurant serves food to 1,400 people in a single night and the guests come in expensive cars. There are two types of seating arrangements. Each seats 700 people and serves 1,400 meals a night.
They have a waiting list of customers waiting in Dadar, the center of Mumbai’s old Maharashtrian area. People come in cars like Lamborghini and Aston Martin.
Talking about her personal experience at Bastion, Shobha said how she did not see any known or famous face there.
She said- ‘I was in shock. Out of 700 people, I didn’t know a single face. There were young people there, and they were ordering bottles of the best tequila for their tables. Lakhs were being spent on each table, but they were complete strangers.

Shobha started her career as a model at the age of 17. She became a journalist at the age of 20.
Let us tell you that in the year 2019, Shilpa had partnered with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, founder of Bastion brand. She now co-owns several restaurants across India and holds a 50 percent stake in the brand. Shilpa herself admitted in an interview that she is one of the biggest restaurant owners in India.
