When Congress leader Shashi Tharoor recently praised Aryan Khan’s web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’, he was accused on social media of giving a paid review. After which, expressing his displeasure on this, Tharoor said that he is not for sale.
Actually, Tharoor had written a long post in praise of this series on his X account on Sunday,

I was suffering from cold and cough for two days, so I canceled many of my meetings. My team and my sister Smita Tharoor convinced me to stay away from the computer for a while and watch a series on Netflix and honestly, that was one of the best things that happened to me, absolutely OTT gold. I have just watched Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series “The Bads of Bollywood” and I am unable to praise it in words. It takes some time in the beginning, but then this series catches you completely. Its writing is very sharp and direction is quite bold and the courage of this satire is exactly what Bollywood needed.

Tharoor further wrote,
This is a brilliant, sometimes funny, sometimes emotional and always truthful series, which shows the world behind the glamour. It takes a sharp and clever dig at every cinematic cliché. There are many insider jokes in the series that connect the audience with the acting and the story behind the scenes. This series of seven episodes shows that a new, powerful storyteller has arrived. Aryan Khan, salute to you, you have truly given a masterpiece. ‘The Bads of Bollywood’ is amazing! Shahrukh Khan, from one father to another all this to say, you should be very proud of your son!

After Tharoor’s review, some users accused him of giving a paid review.

One user wrote, “Shashi Tharoor’s new side business – paid review.”

To this Shashi Tharoor replied, “I am not for sale, my friend. Till date I have never taken money or any benefit in exchange for any opinion.”
