Due to burning of firecrackers on the occasion of Diwali, the AQI (Air Quality Index) of many cities across the country has deteriorated, due to which many areas have come in the red zone. Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput became worried after receiving the news. He has given his opinion by getting angry at those who burn firecrackers for trivial reasons.
Posting a story from her official Instagram account, Mira Kapoor wrote, ‘Why are we still burning firecrackers? That’s not okay, whether it’s “for the kids to see once” or “we’re just doing this once to give them the experience.” Nor is it right that your firecracker aesthetic be limited to just flaunting it for Instagram. Please stop normalizing this. If we accept it as normal, our children will also accept it as normal and it will never stop.

Meera further writes, ‘“Fireworks Se Kaho Na” should not be just that poster that you make with your children on Earth Day and then forget as soon as Diwali arrives. AQI news isn’t just for the next Instagram story. This is the air our children breathe.
Let us tell you that after Diwali, there is a haze of pollution in Delhi and surrounding areas. Air quality has become poisonous. According to the website of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 345 at 7 am, which falls in the ‘severe’ category.

In some areas of the capital Delhi, AQI remains above 400. AQI has been recorded at 433 in Punjabi Bagh and 401 in Wazirpur. At the same time, the pollution level at 34 out of 38 monitoring stations in Delhi is still in the red zone. That means the air quality is from ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’ level.
