The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has reached the Supreme Court to stop Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat from being given a trial. The hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on Friday. This hearing will be conducted by the bench of Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Alok Aaradhe.

These trials are to be held in Delhi on 30th and 31st May. On the basis of these, the players to participate in the Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan in September are to be selected. In the order given on May 22, Delhi High Court had given permission to Vinesh Phogat to participate in the selection trial to be held on May 30-31. This decision has been challenged in the Supreme Court.
The High Court had also directed that video recording of the entire trial process should be done. To make it transparent, it should be conducted under the supervision of independent observers appointed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
On the other hand, while reacting in this matter, President of Wrestling Association Haryana, Ramesh Bohar said that WFI has gone to the court to ensure that there is no atrocities on the wrestlers of the country. No one will be given direct entry in front of the wrestler who has reached the district, state and national competition. Wrestling federation has its own rules, the game follows the rules. Vinesh Phogat got relief from double bench
The division bench of Delhi High Court Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Tejas Karia had given the verdict in favor of Vinesh. The court was hearing the appeal of Vinesh Phogat, in which she had challenged the interim order of the single bench. The single judge bench had refused to grant interim relief on his petition.
