So far 12 Indians fighting on behalf of Russia have died in Ukraine. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave this information in the press briefing on Friday.
Spokesperson Jaiswal said that there have been 126 cases of Indian citizens joining the Russian Army. Of these, 96 people have returned to India. There are still 18 Indian citizens stranded there, out of which no information is available about 16. They are working for their early release and return to their home country.
Many Indians go to Russia in search of jobs. But due to the betrayal of the agents, they are trapped in the war. Recently, Binil Babu, an Indian citizen from Kerala, died on the Russia-Ukraine frontline.

Binil Babu (32 years) was a resident of Wadakkanchery in Thrissur district of Kerala. He had been requesting to return back to India for several months.
Spokesman Jaiswal said another Indian, Jain T Kurien, was injured. They are relatives of Binil. At present he is undergoing treatment. The Indian Embassy is in touch with them. As soon as his health improves, the process of bringing him back to India will begin.
Spokesperson Jaiswal said India has strongly raised the matter with Russia and reiterated its demand for the immediate withdrawal of all Indians from the Russian army.

Both these young men were promised jobs in Poland by a relative, but later they learned that they had actually been given visas to Russia. He had spent huge amount for visa and ticket. So he had to go to Russia. When Binil Babu left for Russia, his wife was pregnant.
