Robert Vadra reached the ED office with his wife Priyanka Gandhi for questioning in the Sanjay Bhandari case.
Information Directorate (ED) questioned Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s businessman husband Robert Vadra on Monday for 5 hours. The case is related to Vadra’s financial relations with British Arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari and his family members.
Recently, a Delhi court has declared 63 -year -old Sanjay Bhandari as a fugitive economic criminal. Along with this, the way to confiscate property worth crores of rupees in India has also been cleared. Bhandari fled to London soon after the Income Tax raid in Delhi in 2016.
The Government of India sought permission from a UK court to appeal to the Supreme Court against the acquittal of Bhandari in the extradition case. However, the court rejected the appeal of the Government of India. With this, the possibility of bringing Bhandari to India was almost over.

Vadra came out for lunch only during 5 hours Official sources said Robert Vadra reached the ED office in Delhi after 11 am. He was accompanied by wife Priyanka Gandhi. The interrogation of Vadra ended after 5 pm. During this time Vadra came out for lunch once in the afternoon.
According to the news agency PTI, the ED recorded Vadra’s statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). However, he failed to answer some ED questions. Therefore they can be called again for questioning.
Vadra came out of the ED office at around 5 pm after 5 hours of questioning on Monday.
Vadra accused of renovation of Bhandari’s house in London After recording the statement of ED Vadra, Bhandari will file a new charge sheet in the case. Earlier, the agency alleged in its charge sheet in 2023 that Bhandari acquired 12 in London, Brianston Square in 2009 and got it renovated on Vadra’s instructions.
It is alleged that Robert Vadra had also given money for renovation. However, Vadra has denied any direct or indirect property in London. Describing these allegations against him as a political conspiracy, he said that he was being deliberately harassed.
Robert Vadra did not appear on the last two summons of ED Last month, ED had called Vadra twice for questioning in the case, but he demanded to extend his summons date. During the first summons on 10 June, he had said to become ill. He was later asked to appear on 17 June. However, he moved abroad after taking Majuri from the local court.
The ED central agency Vadra, who is questioning Vadra in 3 cases of money laundering, is questioning Vadra in three separate cases of money laundering, two of which are associated with alleged irregularities in land deals.
The ED questioned him for three consecutive days in April in a case related to alleged irregularities in the 2008 Haryana land deal.
In a case related to financial disturbances in a land deal in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the money laundering agency is investigating Vadra.
