Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shra arrived in New York on Sunday. They will participate in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session here. Nearly 60 years later a Syrian President is joining UNGA.
The Syrian President last participated in UNGA in 1967. After that the Asad family ruled 50 years long.
In December last year, Ahmed Al-Sara revolted against former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and counted. With this, the 14 -year -old civil war also ended.
After assuming power, Al-Shara has tried to improve relations with Arab countries and Western countries. However, his al-Qaeda-related old relationships and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham have not been able to trust in Western countries.
