A cargo plane slipped off the runway at Hong Kong International Airport on Monday morning and fell into the sea. Two people have died in this accident. This plane belonged to Turkish cargo airline Air ACT.
According to local media reports, this plane was coming from Dubai to Hong Kong. At around 3:50 am local time, the plane collided with a vehicle on the runway during landing. Due to loss of balance he fell straight into the sea.
In this accident, two ground staff of the airport fell into the sea. He was rescued, but later died in the hospital. The four crew members present in the plane are safe and have been admitted to the hospital.
The north runway has been closed following the incident, while flights are continuing on the other two runways of the airport. The Hong Kong Government Flying Service conducted rescue operations using helicopters. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
