On Saturday, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot a man, killing him, in Minneapolis city of the US state of Minnesota. According to hospital records the deceased was 37 years old. The full circumstances of the incident are not yet clear. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said in a social media post that he contacted the White House after the incident. Has appealed to President Donald Trump to end the ongoing immigration crackdown in the state. The situation is becoming more tense due to such actions. Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said the deceased had a firearm and two magazines. Minneapolis police said the man was a legal firearms holder and had a permit. After the incident, a large number of people gathered in the area and raised slogans against the federal officials. The protesters asked him to leave the city. The intersection was closed for security reasons and Border Patrol agents were deployed. Earlier on January 7, another ICE agent had shot a 37-year-old woman riding in a car. She was the mother of three children. Since then, protests against the immigration crackdown have continued in the Twin Cities.
