- Preparation started after 8th: Neeraj (23), resident of Islam Ganj, Ludhiana, told that since childhood he wanted to become an athlete, but it was a big challenge in front of the financial condition of the family. Before going to the games, the army made a plan to go. Started preparation for this only after eighth class.
- Left studies after 12th: Neeraj told that he started running in eighth class to join the army. Prepared to join the army for 4 years. Left with 1st mark in first paper. Even after this, the preparation continued and the paper was not cleared with 3 marks in the second paper and 5 marks in the third attempt. After this started doing pushups.
- Do pushups with army preparation: Neeraj told that along with preparing to join the army, he also started practicing pushups. One after another started going to pushup competitions. Took part in a pushup event for the first time in 2023. In this, he made a place in the world record wide book by doing 24 consecutive 360 degree pushups.
Sold silver chain to pay fees Neeraj told that he did not have money to go to the pushup event. After this he sold his silver chain. Got 6 thousand rupees from selling it, which was used to deposit the competition fees. After this practiced pushups for 6 months. Registered his name in the World Book of Records by doing 24 360 degree pushups in 1 minute.
