The work of writing the script of the film is being done by former TV executive and producer Sneha Rajni. This film will be based on the early life of Lalit Modi, the beginning of IPL, his success and later controversies.

The writing and development work of the film is still going on. While talking to ANI, Lalit Modi had told that a team led by Sneha Rajni has taken dozens of interviews of him.

IPL started in 2008, Kochi franchise controversy

  • Lalit Modi’s name is known for bringing together Indian cricket, business and entertainment. In the year 2008, while being the Vice President of BCCI, he had introduced the concept of franchise based T20 cricket league ‘IPL’.
  • He became its first chairman and commissioner. Within no time, IPL became one of the biggest sports leagues in the world. However, in 2010, a controversy arose over the shareholding of the Kochi Tuskers Kerala franchise.

  • In 2015, this matter turned into a major political controversy when leaked documents revealed that the then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had helped Lalit Modi get UK travel documents despite his passport being cancelled. This entire incident was named ‘Lalitgate’ in the media.
