Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has given a big relief to the spectators after the fourth T20 International match to be played between India and South Africa at Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow was canceled due to dense fog and smog. UPCA officially announced on Thursday that the full ticket amount will be refunded to all ticket holders of the match.
Actually, this match was to start at 7 pm on Wednesday, but due to poor visibility in the stadium, the toss could not even take place. Despite six inspections by the umpires, the situation did not improve and the match was declared canceled at around 9:30 pm. Ekana Stadium was under the grip of dense smog, due to which the game was not possible considering the safety of the players and umpires.
Refund related information will be sent on email
UPCA Honorary Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta said in a statement that keeping in mind the inconvenience caused to the spectators, it has been decided to refund the entire ticket amount. He said that the spectators who have purchased tickets through online medium will not have to go through any additional process. All such spectators will be automatically refunded the ticket amount in their original payment mode (online payment mode). Information related to refund will be sent to the registered email ID and viewers have been appealed to check the email regularly.
Those who buy offline tickets will have to do this work
At the same time, UPCA has made separate arrangements for spectators purchasing tickets offline. Such spectators will be able to get their amount from the special refund counter set up at the box office located at Gate No. 2 of Ekana International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on 20, 21 and 22 December 2025 from 11 am to 6 pm.
For offline refund, it will be mandatory for the spectators to be present in person. They will have to bring a photocopy of a government identity card along with their original printed ticket. Apart from this, the refund form has to be filled with bank details and submitted along with the original ticket. After verification of documents, the refund amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of the viewers. UPCA has clarified that all refunds will be made only after proper verification.
