Haryanvi shooter Manu Bhakar, who created history in the Olympics and Shooting World Cup, has now become a student of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Rohtak. Manu Bhakar’s admission process has been completed. The special thing is that Manu Bhakar has also opted for the course for further study.

Manu is originally from Goriya village of Jhajjar district. He did his schooling from Universal School, Jhajjar. This school is run by his uncle. After this Manu did graduation in Political Science subject from Delhi University. After that he did post graduation in Public Administration from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Manu had won double bronze medal in shooting in the 2024 Paris Olympics. On 17 January 2025, President Draupadi Murmu honored him with the Khel Ratna Award. Currently Manu’s focus is on the Shooting World Cup, which will be held in India in 2027-28. She is busy preparing for it.

- Father said- Manu takes decisions related to studies herself: Manu Bhakar’s father Ramkishan Bhakar told that Manu always wanted to complete his studies. He never gave up his studies along with sports. It is a good thing that Manu has chosen Sports Management Business course for further studies. We have always accepted Manu’s choice regarding studies. He had chosen LSR College of Delhi University so that he would not face any kind of problem there. That is a women’s college. Manu had also chosen Public Administration subject for his master’s degree as per his own wish.
- Mother said- There is no pressure of any kind on Manu: Manu’s mother Sumedha Bhakar said that God should give such a daughter to everyone. Today the daughter has made the country proud. We never put any kind of pressure on Manu and Manu has always chosen the right path. At present Manu is concentrating only on her practice. Manu has decided to continue his studies in sports only.
- Brother said- Chose Rohtak after universities across the country: Manu’s brother Akhil Bhakar is currently studying law from Delhi University. He told that sister Manu has now decided to continue further studies after her master’s degree. Manu has chosen Rohtak IIM for this course only after gathering information from universities across the country. Apart from Rohtak, information about this course was not available from anywhere else.
- Manu is preparing for Shooting World Cup: Mother Sumedha told that currently Manu is preparing for the future Shooting World Cup. India will host the ISSF World Cup and Junior Shooting World Championship in the year 2027-28. The venue of both the shooting events will be New Delhi. Competitions will be organized in rifle, pistol and shot-gun sports.
Selection was done after test cum interview Manu had applied for admission in IIM on 2 November. After this, his test cum interview took place on 16 November. Only after which he was selected in PD Diploma in Sports Management. In this test, questions from sports aptitude, verbal and quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning were asked. After the test, he completed the admission process on 1 December. This is the seventh batch of Sports Management in IIM Rohtak.
President Draupadi Murmu honored Manu Bhakar with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in Delhi on 17 January 2025.
