Putin said that he is looking forward to PM Modi attending the BRICS summit.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval in St. Petersburg on Thursday night. This meeting took place during the conference of National Security Advisors of BRICS countries. Putin and Doval had a one-on-one meeting, in which both were seen together at a table.
According to Russian news agency TASS, Russian President Putin said that he is waiting for PM Modi to attend the BRICS Summit in Kazan (Russia) on October 22. During this, he also proposed a bilateral meeting with PM Modi.
According to the report, the purpose of Doval’s visit to Russia is also to resolve the Russia-Ukraine dispute. Doval has reached Russia with PM Modi’s peace plan. He discussed with Putin about the solution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Doval also gave a message to Putin related to PM Modi’s recent visit to Ukraine.

Earlier, Ajit Doval held extensive talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu and discussed important issues of mutual interest. On the talks between Doval and Shoigu, the Indian Embassy in Russia said that the two sides reviewed the progress in bilateral cooperation and discussed important issues of mutual interest.
