10 Indian citizens working in the Russian army will return to India soon. This information was given by Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh in response to a question asked by SP MP Dharmendra Yadav in Parliament. He said that 10 Indians working in the Russian army have been released by the Russian Armed Forces. The minister said that during his visit to Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the issue of releasing Indian citizens as soon as possible with Russian President Putin. The Ministry of External Affairs has appealed to Indian citizens to stay away from the war zone.

Russia said- we do not need Indians in our army
Speaking to news agency ANI on July 11, Russian diplomat in India Roman Babushkin said that Russia is with the Indian government on this matter. We do not need Indian troops.

The number of Indians in the Russian army is said to be between 50 and 100. Babushkin said that these people were recruited in the army through fraud by agents. These agents are involved in criminal activities. They recruit people in the army by illegal means.

Foreign Secretary said – PM raised the issue in Russia
Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, who is accompanying the Prime Minister on his visit to Russia, said during a press briefing in Moscow on July 9 that the leaders of the two countries have discussed this issue. Russia has promised to discharge the Indians from the army soon and bring them back. Both sides are working on this.

Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Putin met in Moscow for the 22nd summit. During this, both discussed many issues including the withdrawal of troops.

So far 180 Indians have been sent to Russia
Many Indian citizens recruited in the Russian army have died so far. In April, India’s investigative agency CBI arrested four people in the case of fraudulently sending Indians to the Russia-Ukraine war. Three of these people were from India, while one was a translator working in the Russian Defense Ministry.

All these people were part of a network in which Indians are lured through social media with the promise of jobs and good salaries. According to the CBI, a Delhi-based visa company has so far sent about 180 Indians to Russia.
