The weather changed in many states of North India on Saturday. Light to moderate rain occurred in many parts of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, turning the weather cool. There was fog in Delhi in the morning and cold winds kept blowing.
It rained at many places in three districts of Rajasthan in the last 24 hours. Mandawa in Jhunjhunu district recorded the highest rainfall of 18 mm. The temperature in the state remained 2 to 8 degrees below normal. The Meteorological Department has again predicted light rain and thunderstorm in some parts of western Rajasthan on Sunday.
The weather remained cold in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The maximum temperature here was 25.9 degrees, which is about 8 degrees less than normal. Light rain was recorded in many districts.
It has been raining intermittently in all the districts of Bihar since Saturday morning. Hail fell along with heavy rain in Patna. 7 people have died due to storm, rain and lightning.
The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh received snowfall for the fifth consecutive day, while the lower areas received rain. Due to this the temperature dropped. However, people got some relief due to sunshine at many places on Saturday.
A drop in day temperature has been recorded in Madhya Pradesh due to rain and clouds. On Saturday, the mercury remained below 35 degrees in most of the districts of the state. The lowest was 25.6 degrees in Pachmarhi.
There is an alert of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in eight districts of Uttarakhand today, while there are chances of snowfall in the higher reaches. All four Dhams including Badrinath-Kedarnath are covered with snow. At the same time, DGRE has also expressed the danger of avalanche in the high altitude areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh.
