Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav’s troubles have increased in the check bounce case. Delhi High Court on Friday upheld his punishment in this case. Terming the actor’s conduct as suspicious, the court ordered the authorities to send him back to jail.

This whole matter is of the year 2010, when Rajpal Yadav had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore for one of his films. This dispute was going on in the court for a long time after the outstanding amount was not returned and the check bounced.

High Court called the attitude suspicious While hearing the case, Delhi High Court raised serious questions on the conduct of Rajpal Yadav. The court considered his attitude suspicious and refused to grant relief. The court said that despite repeated assurances, the actor did not pay the outstanding amount. After this, the High Court ordered the concerned authorities to send Rajpal Yadav back to jail. After this decision, the actor’s troubles have increased considerably.

Loan was taken for the film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’ This whole controversy started in the year 2010. Rajpal Yadav had decided to make his first film as a director ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. For the production of this film, he had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from M/s Murali Projects Private Limited. This film flopped at the box office, after which Rajpal Yadav could not return the loan amount on time. Due to non-payment of the amount, the whole matter turned into a legal battle.

Was sentenced to six months in 2018 In April 2018, a magistrate court had convicted Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha in a check bounce case. The court had sentenced Rajpal Yadav to six months in jail. After this, in the beginning of 2019, the Sessions Court had also upheld this decision. The actor had approached the Delhi High Court for relief against the Sessions Court’s decision.

Rajpal was released on February 17 after being in Tihar Jail for 12 days.

Rajpal has gone to jail in check bounce case. In June 2024, the High Court had temporarily stayed the sentence of Rajpal Yadav. The court had asked him to take serious steps to repay the dues of about Rs 9 crore. However, they failed to pay the stipulated amount. On February 2 this year, the court had ordered him to surrender.

In the case, Rajpal Yadav had surrendered in Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 5 February. After this he remained in Tihar jail for 12 days till 17 February. The court has now made a strong comment saying that the actor has repeatedly failed to fulfill his promise to return the amount.
