In Jharkhand, the students’ agitation regarding JPSC-JSSC examinations has intensified. JPSC-JSSC Sudhar Manch has announced to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence on August 20. Students are adamant on the demand for cancellation of JSSC-CGL exam and CBI investigation into the matter. During the movement, Devendra Nath Mahato’s hunger strike also continued for the 14th day.

Students have decided to intensify their agitation against alleged irregularities in JPSC-JSSC examinations. Students are continuously protesting demanding cancellation of JSSC-CGL exam and CBI investigation into the matter. On August 20, youth from across the state will sit in front of the Chief Minister’s residence and demand fixing of accountability. It has also been announced to burn the effigy of the Chief Minister and Rahul Gandhi in all the districts on 16th August. For the first time, students have also raised the demand for the resignation of the Chief Minister. JPSC-JSSC Reform Forum has said that on August 20, the Chief Minister’s residence will be gheraoed in protest against the alleged irregularities in the job examination.

The hunger strike of Devendra Nath Mahato, admitted in Sadar Hospital for 5 days, continued on the 14th day. He left his hospital bed and continued his protest by lying on the floor of the corridor.

Devendra Nath Mahato had tried to come out of Sadar Hospital to hoist the tricolor at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium on the occasion of Independence Day and then join the proposed Tiranga Yatra.

In this regard, Devendra Nath Mahato had already given a letter to the district administration conveying his wish. Along with this, the policemen were also asked to accompany him and bring him back to the hospital. At around 8 in the morning, Devendra Nath Mahato started leaving Sadar Hospital. But they were repeatedly stopped at intervals of about 10 minutes each and were not allowed to go out for a long time. During this time there was also a scuffle with him.

Between 9 and 10 o’clock the situation became more serious due to the presence of heavy police force at the spot. According to Devendra Nath Mahato, he was pushed and pushed, due to which he got injured. Force was also allegedly used against his companions and it was said that some of them were picked up and thrown. After the incident, Devendra Nath Mahato sat outside the gate of his hospital room and continued his fast.

Answer will be sought from the Assembly – Jairam Mahato

After this, Devendra Nath Mahato had a conversation with MLA Tiger Jairam Mahato. During the conversation, Jairam Mahato described this incident that took place on Independence Day as serious and condemnable. MLA Tiger Jairam Mahato said that this entire matter will be raised through the Assembly and answers will be sought from the government. After this, between 2 to 4 o’clock the policemen withdrew from the hospital premises, after which the media representatives got the opportunity to come inside the hospital and got information about the entire incident.
