The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has ordered the Mumbai Police to register an FIR on actor Ranbir Kapoor, Aryan Khan’s web series ‘The Bads of Bollywood’ makers and Netflix.

It is alleged in the case that the show has violated the Electronic Cigarette Prohibition Act, 2019.

According to IANS, this complaint was lodged by a person named Vinay Joshi. He says that Ranbir Kapoor was seen using the e-cigarette in the seventh episode of the show, but during this time no health warning or disclaimer was given.

Following the complaint, NHRC has sent notice to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Commission said that the ministry took necessary steps to prevent such content. The Commission also said that such scenes can have a wrong impact on the young audience.

Apart from this, the Mumbai Police Commissioner has also been instructed to start an investigation. It has been asked to investigate the role of people who make e-cigarettes and import.

Ranbir Kapoor did the cameo in the seventh and last episode of Aryan’s show. In this scene, he meets Sanya (Anya Singh) in the office of Dharma Productions. During the conversation, he asks him and smokes him.

This law completely prohibits e-cigarette and all the equipment related to it in India. It has a ban on production, construction, import, export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and advertising.
