900 days of war completed, Ukraine retaliated for the first time
The Russia-Ukraine war, which started on 24 February 2022, completed 900 days on Tuesday. The past week has proved to be very bad for Russia in this war that has been going on for two and a half years. For the first time, Ukraine has retaliated against Russia.
According to CNN, Ukraine has captured as much territory in just 7 days as Russia has captured this year. According to the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russia has captured 1,175 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in 2024.

Earlier on Monday, Russia said that the Ukrainian army had captured 28 of its villages. During this, 12 of its civilians were killed and 121 were injured. Kursk Governor Alexei Smirnov said that in 6 days the Ukrainian army has spread in an area of about 12 km long and 40 km wide in Kursk.

Putin ordered the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops
Putin held a meeting with local leaders and officials in Kursk on Monday. He described the Ukrainian attack as a provocative act. He has ordered his defense officials to expel the Ukrainian army from Russian territory.
Putin said that Ukraine wants to strengthen its position for the ceasefire agreement by occupying Russian territory, but we are not going to make any compromise with them. He accused Ukraine of killing Russian citizens and attacking near a nuclear power plant.

The soldiers learned this information only a day before. Officers did not take the soldiers’ phones because they trusted them to keep it secret.
