A case of gold smuggling has come to light at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Here the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) caught a passenger smuggling gold. Officials said that DRI stopped and searched a passenger coming to Mumbai from Bahrain. During this, 3.05 kg gold hidden in 12 capsules was recovered from him.
According to the agency, a passenger from Bahrain Mumbai Had reached. When he was trying to exit the airport, the security officials became suspicious of him. He was stopped and checking was started. During this, it came to light that he had 12 capsules, which were filled in wax and were hidden in a glass of water, so that they would not be caught during the security check. During investigation, it was found that the gold recovered was 24 carat pure and its value was estimated to be approximately Rs 3.89 crore.
Regarding this entire matter, DRI officials said that this arrest was made on the basis of intelligence information. He told that this conspiracy of gold smuggling may be related to an international gang. The investigation of this entire matter is going on. The recovered gold has been confiscated. Action is being taken against the accused.
