Manmohan Singh was cremated with state honors at Nigambodh Ghat.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was cremated with state honors at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi. His mortal remains were brought to the ghat on an army cannon cart. Here all three armies saluted him. After this the last rites rituals were completed. Sonia, Priyanka, Rahul and big leaders of Congress paid tribute to him. President Murmu, Prime Minister Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath also came to bid farewell.
2. Rahul said – Cremation at Nigambodh Ghat is an insult to Manmohan Singh, Kejriwal said – Center could not give land for the memorial. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, ‘Dr. The Central Government has insulted Manmohan Singh by getting him cremated at Nigambodh Ghat. He deserves the highest respect and burial place. Kejriwal said, ‘BJP government could not even give 1000 yards of land for Manmohan’s funeral and memorial. The last rites of all the Prime Ministers till now were performed at Rajghat.
Where did the controversy start: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on 27 December. It was said that a memorial should be built wherever Dr. Singh’s last rites take place. On this, the Home Ministry said that a suitable place for the memorial will be found and a trust will be formed, which will take time. On Saturday, BJP President JP Nadda said, ‘Dr. Space was allotted for Singh’s memorial. His family has also been informed about this. However, Nadda did not tell where the land was given. 3. Putin apologized on Azerbaijan plane crash, did not take responsibility; 38 people were killed in the accident

Anna University Rape Case- Comment on victim’s clothes in FIR, Madras HC said- Police should be careful The rape case of an engineering student at Chennai’s Anna University was heard in the Madras High Court. The court said, ‘It is written in the FIR that the victim was wearing such clothes which could have allowed the crime to be committed. The victim’s right to dignity and privacy were violated. Police need to be sensitive. Such things have been written in the FIR that boys study secretly in hostels.
The court gave 2 orders: The High Court termed the incident of FIR leaking as unfortunate. The court also ordered the state government to pay ₹25 lakh compensation to the victim in return.
