Actress Madhu Shah recently shared an incident related to the shooting of the film Yashwant. He told that during the shooting of a scene of the film, actor Nana Patekar had actually slapped him, in response to which he also slapped Nana in real. In an interview given to Hindi Rush, Madhu told that she had to cry during a scene in Yashwant. She wanted to use glycerine for the scene, but Nana Patekar was not in favor of it. According to him, Nana wanted the actors to feel emotions and act naturally. Madhu told, “He (Nana Patekar) really slapped me during the scene. Tears literally came out of my eyes. I got very angry because he had never done this in rehearsals. Nothing like this had happened during rehearsals. During the take, he completely shocked me. He really slapped me. I was very angry at that time. I was a girl and probably still am, so I got very angry and I actually slapped her.” According to Madhu, this was an important scene of the film and director Anil Mattoo had allotted a whole day for its shooting, but due to some sudden changes, the scene was completed much sooner than expected. He said that this scene looked very natural and was completed in just half a day. Madhu learned many things about method acting from Nana. Madhu also said that despite this incident, Nana Patekar never disrespected her. According to him, Nana was strict about acting and wanted the actors to play their characters with full feeling.
