Congress state president Nana Patole said on Monday that the first list of Congress for Maharashtra Assembly elections will be declared on Tuesday.

Seat sharing has been decided on Tuesday between Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) for 288 seats of the state for Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024. The meeting of leaders of the three parties lasted for about 4 hours.

After the meeting, Shiv Sena Uddhav leader Sanjay Raut said- Seat sharing in MVA has been finalized. There will be no more meetings. Will announce sheet sharing in a press conference on Wednesday.

According to media reports, seat sharing in the assembly elections has been decided on the basis of the results of the Lok Sabha elections in MVA. In this, Congress will contest on 100-105 seats, Shiv Sena Uddhav on 96-100 and NCP Sharad on 80-85 seats. Other parties may get 3-6 seats.

Voting will be held in single phase in Maharashtra on 20th November. The result will come on 23rd November. The tenure of the state assembly ends on November 26.

On Monday, before the seat sharing was finalized, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut had said that agreement has been reached on 210 out of 288 assembly seats in MVA.

Akhilesh had asked for 12 seats from MVA Samajwadi Party (SP) has sought 12 seats from Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra. Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced the candidate from Dhule Assembly City seat on October 19. After this, while talking to the media, he said- We have asked for 12 seats from MVA. The details of the seats have also been sent to them.

On October 18, the party had announced the nomination of sitting MLA Raees Shaikh from Bhiwandi East, Riyaz Azmi from Bhiwandi West and Shan-e-Hind from Malegaon Central. SP’s Maharashtra state president and MLA Abu Asim Azmi had said – We have announced five candidates so that the MVA knows that we are strong here, otherwise they will tell in the meeting that your candidate is not strong.
