- NCP Chief Ajit Pawar Announces Alliance With Sharad Pawar NCP For Pimpri Chinchwad Civic Polls

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday announced an alliance between his Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) faction for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections. He called it a sign of ‘family togetherness’.
Ajit Pawar was addressing an election meeting in Pimpri-Chinchwad. He said- While deciding the list of candidates for the Municipal Corporation elections, both the groups have decided to contest the elections together. This has once again united the family.
Ajit Pawar said- People may have questions regarding the alliance, but many times such decisions have to be taken in the interest of the development of Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar said- Seat sharing has been discussed between both the parties and information about it will be given later.
NCP factions of Sharad and Ajit will also contest together in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) spokesperson Ankush Kakde confirmed the alliance. He said that seat sharing has not been discussed yet and after talks with Congress-Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), all four parties will take a decision together.
BJP will contest on 128 seats, Shiv Sena on 79 seats
Meanwhile, Mumbai BJP President Amit Satam said that consensus has been reached on 207 seats in the grand alliance. Of these, BJP will contest on 128 seats and Shiv Sena on 79 seats. The decision on the remaining 20 seats will be based on the candidates.
Maharashtra State Election Commission has announced elections for 29 municipal corporations of the state, including Mumbai, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations. Voting will take place on January 15 and counting will take place on January 16.
