His nephew Yugendra Pawar is contesting against Ajit Pawar on Baramati seat. Both of them had filed their nominations on Monday.
Even after the nomination deadline for Maharashtra Assembly elections ended, Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) did not reveal the seat sharing formula. However, BJP is the largest party with 148 candidates in Mahayuti and Congress is the largest party with 102 in MVA.
Both the parties are fighting on fewer seats than in the 2019 assembly elections. Last time BJP had fielded its candidates on 164 seats while Congress had fielded its candidates on 147 seats.
Whereas, Shiv Sena-Shinde have declared their candidates on 83 seats, NCP-Ajit on 51 seats, Shiv Sena- Uddhav on 88 seats, NCP- Sharad on 87 seats. In the last elections, Shiv Sena (undivided) and NCP (undivided) had contested on 124 seats each.
Apart from all this, this time in Mahayuti, BJP has left 4 seats and Shiv Sena-Shinde have left 2 seats for the allies. On the other hand, smaller allies of MVA are contesting on 9 seats.

6 parties in the election fray, rebels on almost every seat Due to rebellion in Shiv Sena and NCP, six big parties are in the fray this time. For this reason there are more rebels. There are rebels on almost every seat in the state. Everyone’s eyes are now on November 4, the last date for withdrawal of nominations. Only after that we will know how the fight will be.
Big rebel of Mahayuti, who is contesting as an independent…
Borivali- Gopal Shetty Has been MP from BJP twice. This time he did not get the ticket in the Lok Sabha elections, hence he wanted to contest the assembly elections. But BJP gave ticket to Sanjay Upadhyay.
Umred- Raju Parve Shinde is the leader of faction Shiv Sena. The party had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Ramtek but lost. This seat went to BJP in the assembly elections. BJP has fielded Sudhir Parve.
Andheri Pre-Acknowledgment Sharma She is the wife of former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma. Shinde had joined faction Shiv Sena just a few days ago. The party has made Murji Patel the candidate from this seat and she is contesting the elections as an independent.
Chinchwad- Nana Kate Ajit is the leader of the faction of NCP. The seat went to BJP. BJP has fielded Shankar Jagtap.
Mankhurd-Shivajinagar- Nawab Malik

Nawab is MLA from Anushakti Nagar seat. Ajit faction’s NCP has given ticket to Malik’s daughter Sana Malik on that seat.
The matter on this seat is very interesting. A few minutes before the end of the deadline for filing nominations, Ajit faction’s NCP declared Nawab Malik as its candidate. Malik was already claiming the ticket, but BJP was opposing.
BJP had made many allegations including treason against Malik by calling him close to Dawood Ibrahim. For this reason Malik was not able to be found. However, on 29 October Nawab Malik filed two papers.
After filling the form he said that I have filed nomination as NCP candidate. He had also filed his nomination as an independent candidate. But the party sent the AB form and we submitted the AB form at 2.55 pm. Now I am the official candidate of NCP.
BJP is still opposing the candidature of Nawab Malik. Under the agreement, this seat was given to Shinde faction. The party has given ticket to Suresh Patil from here. BJP has also supported Patil and is continuously giving statements against Malik.
BJP and Ajit’s NCP face to face on Katol seat Before the split in NCP, former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had become MLA from this seat. However, when there was a split in the party, Deshmukh supported Sharad Pawar. For this reason BJP was claiming this seat. At the same time, Ajit was still considering it as the seat won by NCP. As a result, both fielded candidates. BJP has given ticket to Charan Singh Thakur while NCP has given ticket to Naresh Arsade.

A little more confusion in MVA
Pandharpur Sharad Pawar’s NCP has given ticket to Anil Sawant. Whereas, Congress has fielded Bhagirath Bhalke. Bhagirath is the son of late Congress MLA Bharat Bhalke. After the death of Bharat Bhalke, Bhagirath contested the by-election from NCP, but lost. This time, when he did not get the ticket, he joined Congress and the party gave him the ticket against its ally Sharad group’s NCP.
Bird Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena has given ticket to Ranjit Patil. On the other hand, Sharad Pawar’s NCP has fielded former MLA Rahul Mote.
Solapur South Congress’s Dilip Mane wanted a ticket from here but as per the agreement in MVA, this seat went to Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. The party has given ticket to Amar Patil. Now Dilip Mane is contesting the elections as an independent.
