A unique case of cyber fraud has come to light, where cyber thugs very cleverly made a doctor their victim. The victim doctor was defrauded of Rs 2.5 lakh. He has also filed a complaint regarding this. Police gave this information to PTI.
Police have said that on September 8, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Srivastava received a call from an unknown number. Doctor Uttar Pradesh Live in Shahpur. The person calling the doctor introduced himself as a patient and asked for his advice. After this the doctor helped him through phone call only.
UPI QR Code sent
After this the fake patient thanked the doctor. Also asked to make payment through UPI. Then the fake patient asked the doctor for QR Code. The doctor shared the QR code with the help of WhatsApp.
Money stolen from PNB bank account
After some time, Rs 2,48,687 was deducted from the doctor’s Punjab National Bank account. After this he cyber crime Complaint was lodged in the police station. The police have registered a case against an unknown person.
Police is investigating the matter
In the police investigation, the accused have been identified as Prameel Kular and SK Rawat. Police said that the bank account has been frozen and efforts are being made to trace the transaction.
Don’t make this mistake for safety
Many people have been made victims of cyber fraud through UPI. If someone sends you a payment request on the app, decline it. Also do not share OTP etc. Do not click on links etc. coming from unknown numbers.
Do not share UPI ID with any unknown person. Cyber thugs can use this to make you a victim and break into your bank account.
Never install an app in mobile with the help of unknown link, this can be a big trick of cyber fraudsters. Due to this, important details can be stolen from your bank and phone.
